Blur's 'Parklife' cover art venue to close
Walthamstow Bowl, the greyhound racing locale in London where much of the spread over art for Blur's 'Parklife' record album was guesswork, is to close in August.
The front cross of the 1994 record album was non shot at the venue, only pictures of the band enjoying a night out at the racetrack feature within the CD brochure.
Charles Raymond Chandler, whose kinsfolk has owned the locale since it opened in 1933, explained that falling profit has forced the sales agreement of the stadium. It is set to be redeveloped as flats in the summertime.
As well as Blur the likes of Madonna Louise Ciccone, Brad George Dibdin-Pitt and Vinnie Jones have visited the arena.
